This summer six young people from the Youth Club completed their Silver level Duke of Edinburgh Award expedition.
Despite having to endure some appalling weather over June and July during their practice expeditions, their chosen August weekend was bright, sunny and hot.

The group enjoyed themselves so much that they have decided to carry on to take their Gold level Award!
The Award is comprised of four sections - skill, physical, service and expedition and three levels - Bronze, Silver and Gold. It offers young people a chance to try out different activities and is aimed to develop independence, social learning and personal responsibility.
