Hiding in the forest...
The Annual 1st Keyworth Scouts Dads & Lads weekend was great!  A dozen lads with Dads, plus Group Scout Leader and Assistant had a super weekend doing plenty of scouty stuff.

...and playing at Robin Hood!
Wide games in the dark, building bivouacs in the woods, lighting fires to cook our lunch, archery, bridging the river and worm charming (yes, really - and you'd be surprised how competitive it can get!), among other things.

The Saturday evening campfire was topped off with an old, dry christmas tree.  I've never seen one burn before - they do flare up well, don't they?

Look how much the rope sags with a Dad on it...
Perhaps my favourite was the bridge building.  Nobody got too wet, honest... except when rescuing the rugby ball...

Ludd's Church - a hidden gem
Our Sunday walk took us to Ludd's Church, a hidden cleft in the hillside that you can walk all the way through.

Plenty of food, good company and an open fire.  If you missed it, you missed out!

Roll on next year...
