Having lived in our house for over 10 years, we've finally got round to getting the loft insulated.  A big job, given the junk that has accumulated over the years, and the fact that the previous owners boarded almost the entire loft.

Under the boards, along with virtually no insulation (I'm guessing it's the stuff that was put down when the house was built) I uncovered a few pages of The Evening Post & News and The Guardian Journal, both dated Monday 13 January 1964.

Some of the articles provide a fascinating insight into how Nottinghamshire has changed, so I thought you might like to have a read.

Ironically, one of the articles, entitled The £sd of Keeping the Heat Inside, spoke of the virtues of getting your loft insulated!
