You can add images to your articles by using the 'Upload Images' section near the bottom of the article entry screen.
Step 1 - Upload your images

The Upload Files window
|
Hit the 'Upload' button and be patient!
Step 2 - Format your images
Once your files are uploaded, you can set a number of attributes for the picture.
The Image Attributes window
|
- Title – give the picture a meaningful title
- Caption – this will appear underneath your picture
- Thumbnail – tick this box to use a miniature version of your picture
- Align – choose whether you want the picture to the left, in the centre or on the right
- Wrap text – tick this box to have your article text wrap around the picture
- Link – if you want the user to be able to click on your image, choose whether clicking opens the full-size picture or takes the user to another web page. If clicking to see the full-size picture, we suggest then choosing the ‘open link in new window’ option.
Hit the ‘Save’ button once you’ve finished. You should now see your picture listed in the ‘Upload Images’ section.
Step 3 - Add your image to the article
|
Click to see an example of a placeholder in the article text
|
To add your image into an article, you need to add the
‘placeholder’ into the text as far down as you want the picture to appear. The placeholder is usually in the form ***image
N*** (no spaces).
In the example to the right, the placeholder has been put in the middle of the article. The picture will appear that far down the article, right-aligned (this was the attribute set for the picture).
If you’re unsure about your picture’s position. Use the ‘preview’ button at the bottom of the article entry screen to check it out before you publish.
NB Pictures must not be larger than 500kb, so you may have to resize images taken with a digital camera before uploading them.
