Scouting is the largest movement for boys and girls aged 6 – 25 in the UK, Explorer Scouts are aged 14 to 18. The Keyworth Eagles are a thriving section of Explorer Scouts who like adventure, challenge and fun.

They are encouraged to try something new, feel the buzz of the challenge and then reflect on their achievements.

In August six members successfully completed the high ropes challenge at EXTREEME ADVENTURE in Norfolk, then they faced the huge 45ft high 3G swing!

Adventure and fun are at the core of Explorer Scouts. The Keyworth leaders help members of the section to fulfill their physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential.

The Explorer Scouts work in teams, learn by doing and thinking for themselves. They help plan their own program of activities and take responsibility for some of the organisation and implementation.

Careful planning ensures success.

This term will see our members taking part in activities such as winter camping, circus skills, aboriginal painting, climbing, white water rafting, camp cooking and sub aqua.

Most members join from scouts or guides, but you can also join with no experience. Some Explorer Scouts combine membership with being in the Air Training Corp or similar.

Whilst the section has more than 20 members we’re always interested to hear from girls and boys aged 13 – 15 who would like to join, and are prepared to make the commitment that membership brings.
